Another Sighting Of A Fire Ball

Fire ball sightings were becoming more and more,as I stayed longer in that plantation.Notable was the one seenn by the Plantation Manager. It was a moonless night, just after midnight, really I did know know the time.

I was fast asleep one late evening when the Manager suddenly knocked on my door to wake me up,and whispered to me of a fire ball floating about just out the bungalow's fencing.Anxiously I quickly got out bed to view that fire ball.I followed him into his master bedroom and looked out of the windows.Yes.in fright I saw the fire ball darting about outside the fencing.

That fire ball not only dash about sagging up and down,at times clashing on the wire fencing.I was filled with fear with anxiety as we watched that fire ball. Both of us remained extremely quiet and stunned as we witness that fire ball flying about at about three feet from the ground. It remained flying about for a couple more minutes before flying farther away into the rubber plantation.

For sure we believed it was something sinister and spooky. We were too horrified to venture out to investigate neither did we had the courage to disturb it or shone our torch lights on it.The fire ball of the size of a ball, slightly smaller than a football did not returned to that place that night.Actually we went off to sleep without thinking more about it.

There were many more sightings as such,by than we were immune to their flying about, because they do not seem so frightful thereafter.Anyway these objects whatever they be did not harm anyone.

Later,I made various attempts to verify their existence and found out that these were actually little ghosts bred by "bomohs"or Malay traditional medicine men. They kept these little devils to assist them in their work as "Bomoh".These ghosts were often kept in bottles or other containers and these were released in the late, late night to seek their own food.So these little ghosts wander about seeking their food, thus the flying fire ball.

Now what were their food???.

Baby Crying In The Wilderness (On A Rainy Night)

It was just about three months I have resided at the Manager's bungalow in the plantation that I encountered another scared in the wee hours of one rainy morning.
That cold, cold morning I was abruptly wakened by huge torrential rainfall raining down heavily in the early hours of mourn.

To kept warmer I tried covering myself with the blanket, trying hard to return to my slumber but to no avail as the rainfall kept up its tempor by raining more and more.In the midst of my struggle to go back to sleep,I suddenly heard the cries of a baby some 30 meters away ,the cries seem to come from among the rambutan trees.

The cries continued non-stop,then the cries seem eerie and spooky as there were no one residing at that area. That frightened the guts out of me,for I now realized that those cries were inhuman. The cries went on for quite sometime,as I covered my head with my blanket trying to block that cries from the wilderness.Somehow I dozed off within those frightening moments.

The rain continued until daybreak and I slept through it.ghost or no ghost, beside that was quite a distance away. However,I related the incidence to my Manager who just smiled away without making any other suggestions to specify me.That showed that what I saw not something new to him,he had encountered that before. My talks with other residence proved almost futile.

Although everyone refused to divulge any information regarding the crying baby to me,but I suspected that there were something sinister here.It was much later Someone secretly diverted to me that long ago a dead baby was indeed buried near that vicinity. Ghosts or no ghosts I have to stay on,as long as it did not disturbed me I feel saved.

Floating Ball of Fire

As I said before being new to the lonely life in the plantation,I always took trips to Taiping town during the week-ends.Many a times I stayed back in town only to return to the plantation the following afternoon. There were times that I over enjoyed myself well past the time for me to return to the plantation.

Of course that meant trouble and I was forced to seek ways to return, transport were available until the entrance of the plantation. There after there were railway gates at the railway crossing. In the day light there was always a guard stationed at the guard house but late at night there was none.

Returning home way after 10 p.m., always seemed spooky especially at the railway gate. There were tales of ghosts appearing at the gates, well that really put a lot of fright into my young soul.Nevertheless I did tried to forge up a bold front in one of those evenings when I was at the gate late at night.

Of all days that day the sky appeared to be gloomy with dark clouds floating low above. For sure of impending rain was due.The cold, cold windy blowing past me did not help but further induce fear into my poor soul.I was left alone there by the taxi and there was not a single soul around not even a single dog in sight .

Having no other alternative I had to force myself to follow my consequences.Yea! no choice I got to walk into the plantation - a two miles walked on laterite road with both sides overgrown with thick bushes and rows of old rubber stands. There was no fear of wild animals but unfortunately of ghosts.

I got myself together gripping my fists with gushing teeth I forged myself ahead for the two miles walk.I tried to walk as fast as I could with the cold wind blasting directly at me.A sudden rush of coldness crept within me accompanying with it fear of ghosts.

Half way through my rush I suddenly saw a ball of fire ahead of me,darting about some distance away and then into the nearby bush. Was it a human being ahead I thought but no it could not be because it was a ball of fire floating about three feet above ground. The fire ball was no bigger then a football.Fear within told me that was no ordinary ball of fire,it surely was ghostly.

Gripping with fear I took flight and ran straight ahead, darting at a fantastic speed of nothing less than fourteen seconds I presumed. It was definitely a good run out of fear.I really did not know what to do but to look straight ahead and ran as hard as I could.I past the distanced ball of fire without eying it.

Before I realized it I had reached the gates of the plantation bungalow. It surely was a pleasant delight to see the lights of the bungalow.Yes,it was still on and my fear vanished as I went into the bungalow, panting furiously.By then, all others had gone to bed so I slowly went to my room rested before adjourning to bed as well.

That was, however my first encounter with ghosts in the plantation.Surprising there were more to come.

A Beautiful Lift After Midnight

I began working at a tender age of seventeen plus at a plantation in Taiping ,Perak. It was just after the Overseas Senior Cambridge School Certificate Examinations and I was waiting my my results.

This was my first job. Those days jobs were scared and not easy to come by, therefore I was forced to accept whatever came in handy. So the very minute I got news of that position I joined it without any hesitation. In Taiping I was taken to a Plantation about 8 miles away from town. That was not all.we had to travel another two miles or so on laterite road to the actual plantation.Just imagine another two miles from the main road.

As my Boss drove me through this road I could feel the spookiness all round,as the the sides of that road were of old rubber stand with thick and bushy inter-rows.Being new to this sought of environment which appeared to me as weird and eerie as I was still very raw and seemingly terrified of ghosts and ghostly place such as these.

Soon my fear were overcome as we reached the plantation as well as the Manager's bungalow.Yes, I was to stay with the Manager in his huge colonial bungalow. That took the fright within me.I was given a small room upstairs in the foremost front. Now I am secured,or was I???.

Many a times I traveled with the Manager to town in his land rover. However there were times that I ventured out to town on my own at week ends. After some time I had friends also in town and went out to meet them on weekends. Most of the time I returned home to the plantation the following morning.

Unfortunately there were moments when I overspent my time there and having no place to put up the night or should I ought to be back at the plantation by that night that I was forced to return to the plantation that same evening. That is when my horrors began.
However, before those many people had expounded many ghostly events to me driving my young wits off.

This story had been circulating around for some time before I was employed at the plantation and I had also been advised never to give lift to any young any and beautiful females along my way home late at night. The story began with a young handsome young guy returning home on his motor-cycle after a long night outing in town.

It was a windy night with dark clouds hovering over the sky.The young rider rode on in a hurry to be home before the rain comes thundering down.Mid-way he came upon a beautiful young girl dressed in white. The petite beauty beckon him to stop by waving her hands frantically.

A damsel in distressed who would not, a stunning beauty begging for aid.She seemed pitiful as she also wished to rush home before the the rain began to fall. The young guy heart was softened and gladly offered her his assistance. She managed to convince him that she was in fact residing some distance along that spot, and begged him to give her a lift home.

Happily the young guy offered her a lift, surely it is a bloody shame to let the poor damsel in distress down,so he invited her to ride pillion at his back seat.On the way she flown shivering with cold because of the cold merciless wind. The kind hearted young man sensing that stopped and offered her his jacket to keep her warm. She gladly put that on and continued their journey.

Very soon they arrived at a house the girl had directed. The grateful girl alighted thanking the young man,she had wanted to return the jacket that very instance but the young man being kind obliged by not taking that back. They exchanged some sweet talks and they departed with him promising to return the following day for the jacket.

The following day that young man went to that house intending to meet his new found love and for his jacket. At the doorstep he was greeted by an old gentleman who appeared bewildered and similarly amused at the young man's suggestion that he saw his daughter last night.

After some talking the old man took the young man to the cemetery and there showed him, his daughter's grave. The terrified young man not only noted that the girl had been dead for at least five years but his jacket was also found her hanging on the grave stone that bored her name. That really stunned him and frightened the guts off him but he was glad she meant him no harm.

Just by coincidence almost at the same time there was a song by Dickie Lee singing about the almost similar strange story.Following I post that song.
