Initially when I rejoined planting in St. Andrews at Batang Berjuntai,Selangor,I had to put up temporarily with a Senior Conductor at his bungalow. The bungalow was situated just by the side of the plantation road.At the back of the bungalow was huge banana groove plot, plenty of bananas plants but all all of them were the variety of bananas utilized for Indians to pray and for decorations.
The large bunch of fruits of this variety is edible but slightly sourish. The stem of this plant is firm.strong and tall.very suitable for Indians to decorate their doorways and others at the temple etc.
The place is usually extremely quiet during the night. One late evening during the wee wee hours I went out of the back to ease myself. It was a dark and windy night with impending rain.Only the sound of crickets and other insects were heard crying out aloud.
In that quiet darkness as I stood near the edge of the bungalow to ease myself, suddenly in that far distance darkness I witness the sight of a white figure of an old man moving in between those banana grooves. In fright my hair stood on ends and I felt a gush of coldness through me.
The white figuration appeared in that groove for only a few seconds and within that time it just vanished into thin air,not to be seem again.Afraid it would re-appear again I without hesitation return in haste into my room through my bathroom.
Next morning I related that to my Conductor who confirmed to me that there was a "Kramat"around that area.I had tried to contact it again but futile it never appeared to me again.
Well,no ulterior motive in wanting to meet it,only should I ever come across it again I will seek four digits numbers from it.If lucky could strike it rich.

He Splashed Rice On Me
There were many taboos to be observed for those having to work in the jungle those days.Loggers especially were quite sensitive to many of these taboos, and should something be a missed within him or his environment on that particular day they will certainly abstained from going to work in the jungle that day for their own safety.True or not, well it is easier for others to have their say other things but for those concerned many certainly do not take things for granted.
Even when in the jungle many things had to be adhered to.Like for example do not urinate any where one fancy and when performing it ,one must seek permission and be excuse in doing so.For in the jungle there are also many Lords of the jungle.Irritate them can mean the end of your very existence.
Once I was temporarily working at a Sawmill with huge concession of jungle for logging in Karak,Pahang. It was in this jungle where a young life was taken away just because he irritated the Spirit of the jungle. This was acclaimed by a temple medium when he went into a trance in the jungle.
The tragedy happened in 1968.an young apprentice to the bull-dozer driver was accidentally killed by a huge falling branch.Following that accident the management secured the services of a temple medium from the temple of Bentong as to seek deviant help as to why the accident occurred.
Deep in the jungle at the place of the accident the medium went into a trance.Shaking fevershly and shouting the medium in trance for the jungle spirit demand angrily at being disturbed. However those around managed to specify him by offering him raw meat to eat and strong liquer.
Having fed him they continued to ask him why he caused that fatal accident. To this the Spirit replied that the young apprentice had apparently angered him very much earlier by splashing left over rice at him.To this those around said that the young man did not see him.To this the spirit replied that he did not care that why he took action against him, thus killing him with the accident.
Having heard that, that in deed was a terrible tragedy just because the poor guy unknowingly splashed rice over him and for that small mistake his life was taken from him.In the jungle who the devil know that spirit was squatting among those weeds or under a tree. How tragic but the whole episode is true.

The Tragedy Between Rasa and Kuala Kubu Bahru
Remember the terrible lorry accident just after the kampong along the road between Rasa and Kuala Kubu Bahru. The accident where some fifteen odd rubber tappers mostly females were killed as the plantation lorry overturned in the middle of 1966'
The accident happened in the early morning with the lorry transporting rubbers tappers to a nearby plantation.Rumors had it that the lorry driver saw something unearthly just before the lorry slipped ,wobbled and overturned.Accordingly he was not speeding but only running on average speed.
Apparently he saw a ghost on that stretch of road and instead of driving straight onto the ghost he stirred the lorry slightly to avoid a collision with the ghost. With that sudden diversion of the stirring wheel caused the lorry slipped and unfortunately overturned.
Neither was the bend he was connecting very sharp that caused the lorry to slip.Machanical failures were also ruled out.The horrible accident woke up the nearby kampong with many turning up to assist those injured. It was a terrible accident with more than fifteen dead.
Months later I joined that plantation as its Manager,by that time the plantation had returned to normal but the tragedy remained still very much intact in the mind in those surveying tappers. Those dead were replaced with new tappers from the Rasa new Village.
As I worked among them I could still sense the spooky feelings floating around with some tappers sensing being surrounded by ex-tappers from the past existing around them.Yes,no doubt that area where they gather every afternoon for the receiving of latex many still could feel their presents.
For me I was there for only six months before I left for greener pastures else where,I may have gone away but those ghosts still lingers around that plantation.Believe me they still are around there.I am not joking.

The T-junction At Rasa
Somewhere in 1967 a new construction at Chow Kit Road,Kuala Lumpur suddenly gave way and collapsed. The whole unfinished building just simply fell flat burying a couple of construction workers.
At least two or three of those workers came from Rasa town.Their remains on being retrieved were formerly buried at the graveyard in Rasa.Coincidently the cemetery laid at the tip of the T-junction of Rasa and the main trunk road then. The workers were laid to rest exactly at the junction.
Those days, everyday I used to pass that place and the new graves could easily viewed from the road. The sight gave us quite some eerie and spooky feelings as we passed them. However,I had not seen any ghostly sights.
But there were many who had seen those ghosts in the deep of night as they returned from trips of enjoyments in Kuala Lumpur. Those unearthly bloody figures moving around had frightened many who were unlucky to have seen them.So should you be around that area - keep alert or you see them.

The Old Bungalow at Rasa
A stone throw from the T-junction of Rasa, was an old colonial bungalow with a huge compound. Now that house was reputed to be huanted. In the sixties that bungalow was left abandoned because it was huanted.
When I was in Kuala Kubu Bahru in 1967 I was informed that it was haunted. No one dared to venture near it especially at night.I have not the honor to witness the present of those ghostly figures around that bungalow but there were many who claimed to have seen ghosts in various forms.
During the Japanese occupation the Japanese tortured and executed many there. There many headless ghost had been seen around there then.Horrifying cries had also been heard crying out loud from that bungalow. That was never scary for many four digits punters as many had wandered into it to seek ghostly help to acquire a fortune.
With latest development the ghosts might have been drifted away from that scene.Maybe many had prefer to remain dormant temporarily waiting for the correct moment to strike again.Should that awakening moment come the ghosts will surely returned with more vengeance,so take heed.
to rewrite again.
