Wandering Ghosts

While working in the plantation in Taiping,Perak,I took regular trips by taxis home to Teluk Anson. Each time we passed a plantation after Kuala Kangsar, the taxi divers would tell me ghostly stories.

One of which was the wandering ghosts.Passing that place late at night can be fatal because there were chances they come across wandering ghosts,Ghosts attired in white drifting above ground level without legs. Some times it could be a beauty waving for good Sameritan for a lift. With such stories in the air no drivers dare even stopped let alone have good look at them.

However there were stories that some good soul had given lift to lovely females in white attire but on arrival of their destinations as requested,to their utter surprised the passenger were no more at the back seat.It did not even say "good bye" before leaving. It had disappeared without harming anyone. That put the poor driver in fright and drove off quickly in fear.

Despite all these stories nothing bad had happened.Whatever it was people continued seeing those lonely ghosts beckoning someone to give them a lift.
Stories had it that the area was a rubber plantation and believed that under each tree of that plantation were buried a laborer, mercilessly murdered by a European planter.

Much later I found out that there were no real substance in those stories.Actually that area was a burial ground for Indian plantation workers. So those stories were false no truth whatsoever.
